NYC Fashion photography – Snow themed shoot
Spring is finally here! This past winter felt like it would go on forever, but thankfully mother nature decided to embrace us with some sunshine and warmth. I don’t know if I’m the only one, but it felt like the winter this year went on forever. Most of the winter in NY is cold and dreadful, and not very pleasant to experience outside the warmth and comfort of ones home. I for one, am not a fan of winter. However, there is one thing that I really enjoy about the winter time – the first fall of snow. There’s nothing quite like large, fluffy, snowflakes falling throughout New York city, and I love those first moments. Every time I experienced snow this year, I instantly wished I had done a photo session. I tried setting a few up, but it just was not panning out in my favor. On the very last two days of snow this year, I managed to get two amazing models aboard, and finally create some fashion oriented snow portraits that I was desperately trying to make. First session below is with JW, who is an actor, writer, a model, and an all around good guy that embraced the weather, and stuck it through the cold at central park. JW could pull off the hard grittiness of a lumberjack, while still being a stylish gentlemen. What’s cool is that it started snowing exactly as we were about to start shooting, and stopped snowing right as we finished. A week later, I set up another snow shoot with Janel, who aside from being drop dead gorgeous, had an amazing personality, and was one of the bravest models I’ve worked with. Oh, and did I mention she looks just like Angelina Jolie? Janel was very brave because on the day of our shoot, it was particularly cold, and for a good portion of the shoot, she only had on some jeans and a vest! Despite the freezing cold, flurry of snow, and strong winds, she stuck through it, and braved it through the storm, and because of that, I was able to capture a photo that I now consider one of my all time favorite shots! Props again to both of these amazing talents and their dedication to the craft.
Without further ado, I present my Snow themed shoot. If you like a particular photo, you can hit the ♥ on the left to show some love, like on facebook, or just leave a comment. As always, thank you for stopping by!
