Spring Themed Portrait session – NYC Fashion Photography

Who doesn’t like Spring?  Earlier this year, I went into the blistering cold with 2 wonderful models, and created a winter themed outdoor portrait shoot in the snow.  It was a very tough condition to work in for both the models and I, but in the end, we all put forth an incredible effort, and managed to create some of my personal favorite images that I have shot thus far. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can check out that session here.  I was so pleased with the winter theme, I decided to embark on a journey to do a seasonal themed outdoor portrait session, and create images that would have a different look and feel with each season.  After months of heavy winter, we were finally greeted with the warmth of spring.  There was a magical week when the weather was almost perfect, and New York was full of bright and colorful flowers.  Without wasting any time, I set out to do the Spring session during that magical week when everything was in bloom.  I am a big fan of the Japanese cherry blossoms, and I made it my mission to embrace the beauty of the cherry blossom flowers within my images.  I was lucky in finding two wonderful models for this project, Taryn and George.  Not only did these two look amazing in their floral themed outfits, but they were also true professionals who committed to my vision, and helped make the photoshoot just as I had planned.  Despite having some setbacks with our location, they rocked it out, and we managed to create some lovely spring themed shots.  Tulips, floral bushes, tropical plants, cherry blossoms, you name it, we covered it.

Sara’s Seniors Session

Fall is here, and I’ve been keeping myself quite busy.  I know I always say there will be lots of updates coming, but I promise, they will come sooner than you think.  I wanted to start this update process with something new that I haven’t posted to the blog before: a senior’s session.  Muna contacted me a while back and wanted to surprise her little cousin Sara by giving her a Senior’s portrait session.  What a nice thing to do for someone!  Let me tell you folks, if you want to give someone a great gift that they’ll love, buy them a portrait session through Limon Photography 😉  She wanted Sara to have some fun and fresh images for her HS senior year, and not those boring posed 4×6’s that everyone’s uncles and grandparents used to get.  Lucky for her, I specialize in fun and fresh images… so I happily obliged.  Muna, Sara, and I met up super early in the morning for our photoshoot.  After getting some coffee on a quite chilly morning, we just went around and had some fun.  Sara worked it like a model at the shoot.   I gave her a few poses and a bit of direction, and she absolutely rocked her session!  Sara has a radiating smile, and as you can see from the images below, she can easily brighten up anyone’s day.  Sara loves to laugh and have a good time, so I didn’t have to do much to get her smiling and laughing… which makes my job so much easier 😀

Anywho, take a look at the images below and leave a comment if you like them.  Thanks again Muna and Sara.  I hope you guys enjoy these as much as I did 🙂

Congratulations class of 2011!

Now THAT’s an Awesome Cousin

Zafar & Saima

Happy Valentines Day to all you lovebirds.

This is a Nikkah ceremony/Couples session for Zafar and Saima.  This was officially my first shoot of the year… shot on 1/1/09.  Unlike traditional Western weddings, the Nikkah is a special ceremony that is practiced in the Islamic faith.  During this ceremony, the couple basically agree to marry, and sign the proper documents.  After this ceremony, the couple is legally married.  However, as culture would have it, the marriage is not official until you throw a big celebration/party for friends and family… so that’s still to come.

They wanted to make the nikkah ceremony personal and more family involved, so they kept it nice and simple.  Afterwards, we headed to an awesome location to do their couples session.  Saima looked absolutely gorgeous, and Zafar looked like… well, Zafar (just joking man, you looked good too) 😀

I had such a great time working with them both. Check out the images below, and feel free to leave any comments 🙂

These are the Couples session pics…

My favorite shot from the set!  This was lit only by the light above her.

Zafar didn’t have his ring on him… so I just ended up taking Saima’s ring shots.

My 2nd favorite shot 😀

So I’m up on the seat trying to demonstrate the pose… and this is what happens…
