Rahman Family – Duke Family Photo session
Today’s post is a very special post. Why is it so special you ask? Well, that’s because this post features two of my favorite people, who also happens to be my very first wedding clients!! Back in 2007 when I was just starting out, I photographed Feraz and Asra’s wedding as my very first gig! I had never photographed a wedding at that point, and these two were brave enough to give me a shot at covering their wedding. For that, I am very thankful, because it gave me the confidence to continue my passion, and hone my skills as a professional photographer for the past decade. Before the wedding, we decided to do some formal photos at Duke University in Durham NC. Feraz is a die hard Duke fan, and also a Duke Alumni, so the place holds a very significant meaning for him. Fast forward 10 years, and we all just luckily happen to be in North Carolina at the same time, and it also happens to be their 10 year anniversary. Now the lovely couple has 3 beautiful kids, and they wanted to do a family session back at Duke. Now Asra really wanted to do the photoshoot within the small window that we had, but both of our schedules were quite hectic, and the weather that day was definitely not on our side. It’s pretty rare that all of us just happen to be in NC at the same time, so I really wanted to try to make this happen. I threw a hail mary, we rushed over to Duke in the rain with less than an hour of light left, and we did a super quick family photo session at the university. Despite the speedy session, everyone was in a great mood, and the kids behaved very well, so we were able to pull of a pretty awesome family session. Feraz managed to even get us all inside of a basketball court at Cameron Stadium during the sweet 16, so we got some really cute basketball themed shots to finish off the night. It’s pretty amazing that I get to not only witness and document love and coming together of two people, but also get to see the progression of their family. Without further ado, I present you the Rahman family session at Duke.
