Maroof Family Session

The Maroof family are good friends of mine, and they tend to get their family portraits taken each year.  With such a great family, why wouldn’t you want to?  Saba (the oldest daughter) and her family lives out of state, so whenever they are in town for the holidays, it’s always nice to see them and get some new portraits taken.  Ismail, Saba’s son, is very active and quite photogenic.  For this session, we had the whole family in town, so we just had to get some pictures of all 3 generations at once!  There will be another post in the future with Ismail’s session at the park, so stay tuned if you want to see more of him.

Lucky 7 – Feraz & Asra Highlights

One of the earliest wedding events I did is still one of my favorites.  07-07-2007 was considered the luckiest day of the new century, and there were more recorded weddings on that day than any other day since 1999.  On that lucky day, I had the pleasure of photographing my good friend Feraz’s Walima.  A Walima is a traditional Indian/Pakistani ceremony right after the main wedding ceremony.  The groom and his family are responsible for this ceremony, where they welcome the new bride into the family, as well as introduces her to the new community.  I like walima’s simply because they are more laid back.  Since most of the important things are over with, it’s all about fun, goofing off a bit, and eating really good food.    Without further delay, I present you some of the images from the day:
