Happy Holidays

Looks like the Holidays came early for me this year 😀   I’ve used the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 IS for a few weddings, and I instantly fell in love with it.  The lens is perfect for portraits and telephoto work.  The lens weighs about 4lbs alone… and it’s a real drag during those long weddings.  However, the images this puppy produces is well worth the extra weight.  This year, I finally decided to splurge and get this wonderful lens for myself.  I am super excited, and can’t wait to test it out at the next wedding this coming week.

From everyone here at Limon Photography, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Holiday!

Roxanne Portrait Session

Roxxxxannnnee… you don’t have to put on the red light.  Roxxxanne….you don’t ha… oh, sorry forgot this was a blog and not my shower.  Um.. on with the post:

A young and shy girl by the name of Roxanne came to us and wanted some professional looking portraits done.  Her fiance was stationed in Iraq, and she wanted to send him some nice pictures for his birthday.  I thought that it was a very nice gesture, and I wanted to help her get some great pics.  She wanted some nice portraits, but nothing too formal.  Contemporary portraits… got it.  She was also quite shy and had never done a photo shoot, so it took a few minutes to work the Sahid charm and get her to relax and have fun.  By the end of the day, she was directing me and suggesting shots!  Half way through the shot, I thought it would be cool to incorporate an Army theme. I decided to get my US Army jacket and my aviators, and let her rock them for the shoot. All in all, I had a great time with Roxxanne, and we got some killer pictures.  The picture where she’s standing in the middle of the road with her hands behind her (#8)… is still one of my all time favorite shots.

The look on her face when she saw the final pictures… priceless.

Soccer at the Beach

** A Short note:
A friend recently asked me whether I was going to keep this blog strictly business oriented, or if I was going to share any personal images to share with the world. After thinking it through for a few days, I decided that I should share any image I find worthy to showcase to my audiences and prospective clients. I LOVE photography… and I feel that you, the reader, should join me on my journey, and see what I love to capture as well. Therefore, from now on, I will continue to have posts related to weddings, portraits, and events… but will also post other images just to keep things fresh and and give a new perspective.  Oh, and don’t worry… I promise I won’t just post random shots of my cat 😛

Onward to the post….

Ever get bored? Ever get so bored, that you just want to do something… anything? Well, often times, I find myself in that very same situation. To cure this “boredom”, some of my friends devised the perfect plan: Random Road Trip. A few of my close buddies, my brother, and I decided that it would be fun to do something we all loved doing… playing soccer on the beach. However, we decided this at 1 am. Just to be spontaneous, (and since we had nothing better to do) we headed to the beach in the middle of the night… 3 hours away. Figuring I could get some pictures out of it, I took my camera and a few lenses, and we headed off. We arrived there just in time for the sunrise, played soccer for a few hours, had breakfast, soaked up the sun and admired the view, and headed back home before supper time. Ahhhh… the joy of being young and spontaneous.
