Ayesha & Mansoor – Mehndi, Wedding, Walima

Mansoor and Ayesha actually got married last year.  So why am I posting the images on my blog now?  If you haven’t noticed yet, I am absolutely terrible at blogging.  Honestly, that’s the only reason.  I am getting better though, and slowly, you will see many more previous weddings making an appearance on the blog.  To find out a bit more about the couple, look at the next post with their Couples Session which I did recently.  Anyway, without further ado, I bring you all 3 events and their gloriousness.  What?  That’s not a real word?  It’s ok, it’s my blog… so I’m allowed to use words that sound awesome like radicalous and superdope-tastic 😀  Enjoy.

Sajid & Maryum – Walima

Here is the final post for Sajid & Maryum. This was the Walima ceremony thrown by Sajid’s family. For this one, I traveled all the way up to Dover, Deleware.   This was a more relaxed shoot compared to the wedding. My favorite shots from this session was when she was getting ready. There was some natural light coming through the window that morning, and it made the pictures really stand out. We drove around downtown and got a few shots for the couples session, and then headed to the hotel for the ceremony.

My Favorite shot… if you couldn’t tell

Lucky 7 – Feraz & Asra Highlights

One of the earliest wedding events I did is still one of my favorites.  07-07-2007 was considered the luckiest day of the new century, and there were more recorded weddings on that day than any other day since 1999.  On that lucky day, I had the pleasure of photographing my good friend Feraz’s Walima.  A Walima is a traditional Indian/Pakistani ceremony right after the main wedding ceremony.  The groom and his family are responsible for this ceremony, where they welcome the new bride into the family, as well as introduces her to the new community.  I like walima’s simply because they are more laid back.  Since most of the important things are over with, it’s all about fun, goofing off a bit, and eating really good food.    Without further delay, I present you some of the images from the day:
