Ayesha & Mansoor – Mehndi, Wedding, Walima

Mansoor and Ayesha actually got married last year.  So why am I posting the images on my blog now?  If you haven’t noticed yet, I am absolutely terrible at blogging.  Honestly, that’s the only reason.  I am getting better though, and slowly, you will see many more previous weddings making an appearance on the blog.  To find out a bit more about the couple, look at the next post with their Couples Session which I did recently.  Anyway, without further ado, I bring you all 3 events and their gloriousness.  What?  That’s not a real word?  It’s ok, it’s my blog… so I’m allowed to use words that sound awesome like radicalous and superdope-tastic 😀  Enjoy.

Sheema & Fahad – Mehndi + Nikkah + Wedding

Hello everyone, hope your summer is going well.  Today, I want to do something a bit different than what I usually do with my blog posts.  Now if you wanted to insert a joke, this is where you would say “actually post something on the blog?”… and to be fair, I would deserve that statement.  I know I haven’t been posting a lot of things here lately, but I promise there will be lots of really cool and exciting things coming very soon.  Anyway, back to what I was trying to say.  For this particular post, I’m going to submit a ton of images for you to look at.  Why?  Just because I can 🙂  I’m going to post 3 different ceremonies from a recent wedding, and I’m going to post them all at once in this post!  So if you have a slow internet connection, I’m warning you in advance, there are over 100 images in this post.

Though I have never really met Sheema previous to these events, her Father has been good friends with my family over the years.  Also, Sheema was a fan of my work… and that’s all I really needed to know 😀  In person, she is very kind, sweet, and quite pretty as well.  Now I must admit, like most other brides I cover, Sheema was a bit shy at first for the photos.  However, after a bit of time explaining what we were doing, and some terrible jokes from me, she became quite natural.  She was not only a beautiful bride, but very fun to work with.  Fahad and his family came down for the wedding all the way from Chicago.  I didn’t really get to meet Fahad as well as I would have liked to, but he seems like a genuinely nice guy, and quite right for Sheema.  Aside from being a nice guy, Fahad also looks a lot like the Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar… but maybe it’s just me.  All in all, I had a lot of fun at their mehndi, nikkah, and the wedding program.  On top of meeting the wonderful couple and their families, I was also informed at this wedding that I have a few female stalkers of my website.  Normally stalkers are a bad thing, but in this case, it’s good in every way.  So special shout-out to my stalker friends. Thank you again ladies for your continuing support, and I hope you enjoy this set (esp. since some of you are in a few of the pics).

Anyway, without further ado… I present the massive post of images:

Syed & Nadia – Holud & Wedding

Hello everyone. Here’s a quick little update for a Holud and Wedding ceremony for Syed and Nadia. For those of you who may be unfamiliar, a Holud is a traditional Bengali ceremony where a turmeric paste is applied to the skin of the bride and groom. Henna is also applied to their hands often, and sweets are always fed to symbolize the sweet times the couple will spend in their lifetime. I came a bit early and was able to get some shots of Syed and his relatives setting up the stage area. Now Nadia was a bit shy and wouldn’t smile for the camera much, but I worked my magic and was able to capture some of the smiles… and she didn’t even know it 😀 All in all, we all had fun, and got some great images in the process. You can check out all of the details, colors, and full emotions below. Just a heads up though, it’s two sessions in one post, so lots of images to load.
