The Summer rush is in full effect, but I wanted to bring you all a quick little E-session of Roshan & Julie.  Roshan, or Rosh is the handsome older brother of one of my previous clients, Sumeet.  If you don’t believe me and want to check to see the resemblance, then I suggest you click here and check out Sumeet & Rita’s awesome E-session.  Sumeet wanted to surprise his brother by getting me for his wedding, so you know I had to step it up.  We started off near the railroad tracks and got some cool shots with an abandoned train.  We then moved on to downtown Raleigh, and got some shots at some of Rosh & Julies favorite places.  Once we were able to cool down a bit, we ended up heading to Rosh’s place, which had an amazing lake and trail in his backyard.  Rosh brought out his dog Zelda (what an awesome name for a dog by the way), and we all had a blast running up and down the trails.  It was a really hot and humid day, some of the locations didn’t pan out, time was not on our side, but in the end… all 4 of us rocked it out, and made it work.  Matter of fact, one of my all time favorite shots was taken at this session.  To see the amazingness of this couple, scroll below.  Special thanks to Blue Mango Restaurant in downtown Raleigh for letting us use their place to take some shots.  Great restaurant and good people, you guys should check them out.

Most of the sessions I post here are pretty special and significant.  However, what I’m about to post today is something so special and wonderful, that it’s kinda over the top.  From a scale of 1-10, this is a straight 11 on the “aww” factor.

Ashish is one of my boys from the good ‘ol college days.  I met him at NCSU through one of my good friends LT, who’s awesome engagement session is posted here by the way.  Ashish called me up a while back and told me he was finally ready to propose to his girlfriend Neema. When he asked me to photograph the event, I was honored and thrilled at the same time.  I’ve never actually witnessed an actual proposal personally.  Is it like what you see in the movies?  Does the girl always get emotional?  What if the guy starts crying too?  I was excited to actually see a real proposal, not to mention take notes for the time I have to do the same.  Problem was, this was going to be a surprise, so I would have to photograph them without Neema finding out.  Seems easy, but I assure you, people with big camera and lenses stick out very quickly.  On top of that, Ashish wanted to do it during day light, at the lawn in UNC, which doesn’t have things to hide behind.  However, like every photoshoot, the challenge was happily accepted.  Ashish and I planned to meet a few days before the big day, just to plan it out and make sure things go according to plan.  Like weddings, there would only be one shot at this, but on top of that, there’s the added pressure of not being detected.  We did a trial run a few days before, things went smoothly, so the plan was a Go for that weekend.  So how did it all pan out?  How did he propose to her?  Did she say Yes?  Scroll down and find out 🙂

So when Neema did notice me, I just turned and took photos of the random bride & groom

This was the distraction point to stall things for a bit, so my assistant could run to the next area.

Ashish: “Hey, I think I recognize that song.  Is he playing John Legend?”

Ashish starts singing Stay with You by John Legend

“Oh I’ll stay with you through the ups and the downs. Oh I’ll stay with you when no one else is around”

This was it….

Just thought I share a quick E-session with you for Pritesh & Roshni. Pritesh contacted me a few weeks ago and wanted to schedule an E-session that would make both him and his fiance Roshni look spectacular. Not a problem, since that’s my specialty. Pritesh is from TN and Roshni’s in NJ, so we all met up in NY and did the session there. Spring is in the air, and I wanted to highlight nature and all it’s beauty in this session. We shot in a park, shot near some flowers, a pond, and the city. I wanted to go on for a bit more in the city portion of the shoot, but these two crazy kids had to run since they had so many things scheduled. All in all, we had a great time, and I had fun working with both of them. Without out further delay, check out the pics below:
