Some Stuff

Hi folks.  Summer is rolling on by, and I’ve been busier than ever.  I’ve been terrible at updating the blog on a regular basis, but I promise I will do a better job once the wedding season passes.  Just thought I throw you all a quick update about some stuff that’s been happening with Limon Photography lately.  This season I’ve been featured and published a few times,  so I figured I share it with all of you as well.

Feature #1: Rivaaj Magazine

Rivaaj Magazine is a trendy Desi fashion magazine that’s based in Atlanta GA.  The editor from Rivaaj Magazine randomly contacted me and said she absolutely loved my work.  I thought that was pretty awesome.  Now when she told me that she liked my work so much, she wanted to feature it in the magazine… I was ecstatic.  I had a hard time choosing what wedding I was going to feature, but in the end, it was the NY wedding that won.  To see some of the pictures from one of my favorite weddings so far, and here what the bride had to say… click on this link.  You can also pick up the current issue of Rivaaj, and see the article on page 90 and 91.

Feature #2: JPG Magazine

I wanted to share some of the images and my experiences from my very first Bengali wedding that I covered in April.  I decided to write a short story in JPG magazine about it, and submit it online to share it with the world.   When I got a newsletter from the magazine stating that my story had been chosen as their favorite wedding story, I was shocked and excited!  To check out the story, just click on this link.

Feature #3: The Sari-Clad Bride

Sumaiya, a writer for the popular wedding blog The Sari-Clad Bride, contacted me a few days ago and said that they had chosen me for their vendor spotlight.  They sent me some simple questions, and I answered them to the best of my ability 🙂  To read more about it, simply click here.

Hanna & Zeyad – E-Session

I had the distinct pleasure of photographing the Engagement ceremony for Hanna & Zeyad.  Infact, if you look below this post, you can read a bit more about  it , and see some of the images from our awesome time at the event.  We had a blast, and got some pretty cool pictures throughout the night.  Both Hanna & Zeyad had such a good time working with me at their party, that they wanted to hire me again for their E-Session.  They were going to have their dream wedding in Egypt, so that would be a bit out of my territory to cover 🙂  If I wasn’t already booked on that date though, I would have seriously considered it!  Since the main festivities would be held in Egypt, we decided to do a very fun and casual E-session.  Since we didn’t get a lot of outdoor shots at the ceremony, I wanted to do this session exclusively outdoors.  The location of choice was (Chapel Hill campus since Hanna was attending Pharmacy school there) as well as some other locations around town.  Now I have to say, this particular session is one of my all time favorites to this day.  Not only did I have an amazing looking couple, but they were super nice and cooperative about the whole thing.  Anything I suggested, they were up for it.  When it comes to getting truly amazing photographs, the cooperation from both the couple is a vital part of the overall process.  Hanna and Zeyad were truly awesome about their session throughout the day.  I also had Matt come by and assist me in whatever way I needed.  Though it’s mostly slave work when being an assistant, Matt had a great time and enjoyed it the whole time.  We had a great time walking around and getting these images, and I personally think that I got some of my very best images from this session alone.  If all that wasn’t great enough, the couple also treated us to an awesome brunch at a classy restaurant for all of our hard work.  Therefore, this was one of my all time favorite E-sessions to this date 🙂

So enough of me talking… please enjoy some of the images from the session.  There were so many good ones, that by the end, I ended up choosing close to 40 pictures.   Feel free to leave any comments if you like the work, as I always enjoy reading them.  Thanks!

One of my absolute Favorite shots that I have ever taken

Special Thanks to Matt for coming and helping me out on this shoot.

Hanna & Zeyad – Engagement Ceremony

Engagements are always a nice thing.  They are even better if it’s someone you are friends with or have known for a while.  Such was the case with Hanna.  I met Hanna back in Undergrad, and although I didn’t see her much around school, or hang out with her much… we were still good friends through different social clubs.  Incase any of you really keep up with my blog (I doubt there’s anyone here that seriously does), I covered Hana’s nephew Amir in this post, so Hanna is Aya’s younger sister.  Hanna is one of THE nicest person you will ever meet, and she is always very cheerful (and I’m not just saying that because this is on my blog).  She’s one of those people that is so nice, that you can’t really imagine them being angry or upset about anything… even if you try.  When I found out she was engaged, and wanted me to cover the celebration, I was very excited.  Since I’ve already somewhat met and known the family, it felt very comfortable to work with them again.  This was the Khatooba ceremony, otherwise known as Kaital Kitab… which is pretty much the celebration of the engagement.    The program is pretty straight forward like any other engagement celebration.  However, in Egyptian culture, the couple will also drink a delicious juice cocktail known as Sharbat, and have a massive dancing celebration with family and all the close friends.  It’s a very lively event, and you would almost think that the celebration is the actual wedding itself.  So without babbling any further, I present the images.  Just a note, these pictures are a bit old,  so just keep in mind that these are before I had all my fancy pant equipments that I currently own.
