Zafar & Saima – The Wedding

Hello Internet world. I know it’s been FOREVER since the last update, but a lot has happened, and a lot more is still to come… so updating this blog has been delayed. I’ve decided to try something new this year, so I will update you guys with all the info on that in a future post. For now, let’s look at some really cool pictures shall we? This is a wedding from last year. Now I know you guys are saying it’s been such a long time since 2009, but I honestly have been swamped with work and some other stuff, and am just now getting to post some of my favorite weddings on the blog. So a few more from the ’09 will still make it’s way to the blog, and if you liked what you’ve seen so far, I have a feeling you may like them even better.

Hey, you remember that time you looked at Zafar & Saima’s Nikkah pics and loved them? Sure you do. Just incase you forgot, click on this link and catch up. Well, I had the opportunity to photograph their wedding as well last year. These two are just wonderful to work with, and I really had a great time with them both.  Now since it got dark for the couples session last time, I decided to give it another shot a bit earlier. We went to Duke gardens and shot a very quick couples session. Afterward, it was off to the Sheraton to get our wedding party on. The whole event was nice, with only the closest family and friends attending.  I really love the simple and small weddings that are very family and friends oriented.  I quickly went to Saima’s room while she was getting touched up, and I managed to snag some of my favorite images from that day right then. I also loved the fact that her two daughters were involved most of the day, and were complete sweethearts while working with me. This particular wedding had a lot of really fun dances after the main programs, which included debka, bhangra, ballroom, club, and dare I say… even the robot by Zafar at one point 🙂 All in all, I had a blast covering their wedding, and I actually got a lot of my favorite images from this one.  Would love to hear your opinion on them as well.

Now there are LOTS of images, so it may take a while to load.

Dev & Jiya – Couples Session

It’s always nice to get recommendations from friends and family.  Shatil, a good friend of mine, had told his buddy Dev about my photography service… and just like that, I was booked for their wedding reception in Raleigh.  Both Dev and Jiya are in medical school, so their schedules are quite hectic.  Although we had a wedding related ceremony on this particular day, Dev had asked if we can do a couples session in Chapel Hill a few hours prior to it.  Dev and Jiya both attended UNC, and that’s also where they met and fell in love.  Though time was not on our side, I still obliged, and we proceeded to do a super quick couples session.  This session was definitely a record breaker for me.  We managed to do the whole session in under 30 minutes, and then rush back to North Raleigh for the other programs and events (which will be blogged about in the near future).  Although the session was quick, the weather was great, the lighting was spectacular, and we still managed to get some awesome pictures.    So hope you enjoy the set.

Jeff & January – Wedding

Haven’t posted in a while, so I thought I post one of my favorite weddings from the summer. I meant to have this post up sooner, but haven’t had a chance to do it until now. This is the wedding of Jeff and January. These two are super nice, and I had a great time shooting their wedding. Their ceremony took place at a beautiful Church in Raleigh, the Sacred Heart Cathedral. It was somewhat of a challenge because photographers could not go past the last pew of the church. So for most of these shots, I had to stand on a choir balcony at the very back of the church, and somehow manage to get the wedding ceremony. Any normal photographer would probably be sweating at the lighting conditions and the distance, but I managed to prevail and capture the wedding beautifully 😀 After the ceremony, we went to Durham for the reception. When I walked into the reception hall and heard Metallica playing from the DJ (on request from Jeff), I knew it would be one wild and fun night. Everyone laughed, sang, and danced… and we all had a great time at the wedding. Congratulations again Jeff and January.

Saw an 18 wheeler cargo carrier parked outside of the church. I had to take advantage of it right then and there. Asked the driver permission, and got the following shots 😀
