2011: A new beginning

A new year is often associated with a new beginning, or a new change. Every year, people embrace this idea for a change, but often fail to keep their promises and resolutions. Like many, I decided that 2011 is a year to make changes in my life and my work, and I intend to stick true to my word. This year, there will be many of new and exciting changes that will be coming to Limon Photography. Some of you may like the changes, others may not like them as much. However, after much deliberation, I decided to embrace the changes to make Limon Photography what I want it to be. Most things will stay the same, but somethings will be new and exciting.

With that being said, I want to officially welcome you to my first event of 2011. A few weeks back, one of my good photographer friends, Inku Yo, asked if someone in the area could help and assist him for an upcoming wedding. Now if you know Inku, then you know that he’s an incredible photographer. What? You don’t know him? You need to click here immediately and go check out how incredible his stuff is. No seriously, I’ll wait. Ok, where were we? I was in the area and free, so I had no problems offering my services to help him out with the wedding. I met up with Inku on a very cold Friday morning, and we met the lovely Rita and her husband to be, Tom. Tom and Rita were pure delight to work with on their wedding day. Both of them were relaxed and wanted to have a lot of fun, and that’s exactly how the day went. Rita was worried at one point about being a few minutes late for something, but I told her stories from some of the South Asian weddings that I cover, and assured her that we were definitely on time. After they got ready, we had a quick first look, and went to a beautiful church for the ceremony. I hopped in the limo with them to ensure that I would be able to document all the fun of the wedding day. The reception was held at the beautiful Bronx Botanical garden, where the party went on till midnight or so.

Now I want to take this moment and say that I’ve second shot weddings for a few photographers in the past. Some are easy to work with, some are quite difficult and demanding, and some can be downright strange. However, Inku is by far one of the easiest person that I’ve ever worked with so far. Although we covered three different locations that were pretty far apart, he gave me plenty of information as the day went through, and I had a great time working with him throughout the day. I want to thank Inku again for being such an awesome photographer to work with, but also for giving me the opportunity to work with a wonderful couple such as Rita and Tom. Hopefully we’ll get an opportunity for another collaboration soon! Anyway, without further ado, I present you the wedding of Rita and Tom from my perspective. Be sure to check out Inku’s webiste to see more from this wedding.
